Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.

An auditor is only as good as its willingness to be audited. This page is our process for errors in anything we publish, and the public log of every correction. Last updated October 18, 2026.

1. How a correction works

  • Anyone can report an error. Write to shane@plumblinegrader.com with the page, the figure and what you think is wrong.
  • Confirmed or rejected within 5 business days. We re-check the figure against the run it came from and reply with what we found.
  • Fixed within one business day of confirmation. The change is logged on this page and on the page that carried the error: the date, the old value, the new value and the reason.
  • Never deleted. A correction stays in the log for good, including one that later turns out to need its own correction.
  • Owners hear first. When a correction changes a finding we published about someone’s work, we tell them before the change goes up.
  • Rows in our published indexes. A disputed row is re-checked within 5 business days. A finding we cannot defend is removed, the row’s change log keeps both numbers and the date, and a correction that moves a row’s tier is announced where we announced the edition.

2. Correction log

No corrections have been logged since this page was published. Each entry will list the date, the page, the old value, the new value and the reason.

How we measure our own error rates: how we measure ourselves. How owners hear about findings before we publish: disclosure policy.
